An Eco Build for a private client of a number dwellings for holiday accommodation. The homes were built using many of the locally available materials such as stone and alien timber.

A flat roof installation of the Apricus AP30 into a 200l thermal store. The client requested that the system not be visible from the patio, to overcome this we placed the system on the adjoining flat roof. Even though this system is alongside the roof that holds the geyser we still achieved a succesful thermo-siphon installation.

Where: 35 Lester Road Wynberg Cape Town Why: Heating of water for washing processes and washing times was exsessive therfore a large pre-heat configuration was installed. Project: Installed 10 Apricus collectors to heat 2 000 litre thermal storage. This pre-heated water was then used to feed the washers in place of cold water. Energy savings and wash turn around times were achieved.

Where: 8th Avenue Queens High School Bez Valley Johannesburg Why: Coal fired boiler was a rising expense, dirty and labour intensive. Project: Increased storage capacity from 3000L to 6000L. Changed heat sources from coal to 2 x Rinnai Thermostatically modulated burners and 30 x AP 30 Collectors. Both tanks are heated by solar in daylight hours and the tanks are plumbed in series to increase capacity.
